7 Bedroom Place in Menerbes, Ménerbes

17th-century farmhouse fully renovated, luxury and charm
A charming, luxury farmhouse of 450m² for 15 persons, with pool
2 km from Ménerbes, an authentic 17th-century Provincal “mas” (ranch-style farmhouse), fully renovated and equipped to welcome you to the Luberon. Tastefully decorated with luxury fittings, this charming mansion is designed to ensure maximum comfort and make your stay an exceptional moment.
The kitchen, spacious and convivial, is fully equipped; the living room leads out into the garden via a patio where guests may sit in the shade of the restored columns. The vaulted walls and Ménerbes-stone floor provide a sheltered spot for guests to relax and contemplate nature.
7 theme-based bedrooms, with private bathrooms and air-conditioning, are fitted out with restored Chinese furnishings; a welcoming backdrop combining charm, luxury and comfort.
Two of the bedrooms are situated in the duplex adjoining the main house. Formerly the caretaker’s cottage, the duplex is independent of the main building. It is fully air-conditioned and equipped with all the mod cons for maximum comfort.
A big heated pool (6x12m; 2.40 m deep) with a large Californian stone-deck and electric roll-on safety cover.
A playpark for kids with swing, slide, climbing-wall, monkey-bridge and wooden platform around a big oak tree.
Several courtyards and terraces offer convivial spots, large enough to set up tables, chairs, and sun beds: the front courtyard, delightfully shaded from the sun, the terrace in front of the ground-floor suite, the patio adjoining the living room, the roofed terrace by the pool with big tables for up to 16 guests.
The house, surrounded by oak trees, bamboos and greenery, offers a great view of the Luberon, which is particularly stunning seen from the pool.
The garden and the green spaces create an authentic oasis of peace in harmony with the aesthetic of the farmhouse. Stones benches here and there, under the trees, long for the guests, idle, looking for shadow underneath the leaves.
Please note that a recharge station for electric vehicles is accessible to our guests.

Summary: I was there for 4 days with my daughter, two of her girlfriends and a friend of mine from France. Just an amazing and wonderful house in a fabulous area. The house had been built over at least three centuries and was beautifully featured. All the bedrooms were comfortable. The pool was outstanding and the outside areas for meals were also great. The only letdown was that the typical disposable items like plastic bags, plastic wrap, paper towels, salt and pepper were very lacking. There was no hand soap in the master bathroom. These things we had to go out an buy the first day and are typically provided for short term rentals in this price range. We left a lot of these items there so hopefully the next tenant would not need to rebuy them. Also the oven was quite difficult to work. The caretaker Frederick was helpful and very nice (while he did not speak English he was able to use a translate ap and get all the important info across). All in all I highly recommend this home.

Summary: The property was absolutely lovely....it was everything we could have hoped for. It was extremely hot - 42 degrees - and only part has air conditioning however there are plenty of fans available throughout. Kitchen very well equipped. Pool excellent size and plenty of room to move about the terraces, garden and house. There were 16 of us and 2 babies but we never felt crowded. Frederick who met us was charming and helpful in every way. A wonderful holiday enjoyed by us all. We were sad to go!

Summary: The Pro's The property is well situated, within walking distance to the lovely village of Ménerbes. Nice pool area. Great outdoor dining spaces. Frederick, the onsite property manger was great. We were able to communicate through our messaging app's. The Con's Our first morning after arrival, a line of hundreds of ants were making their way across the kitchen counter to the toaster. I reported this to Frederick to which he replied "For the ants I can not do anything today but know that here in the countryside there are inevitably insects I would come tomorrow in the morning to put a product Good day"... I resolved the issue by going to the store and buying an insect spray. I also reported that my 9 month old grandson, domiciled in the annex, was crawling on the floor and was absolutely dark with dirt, suggesting that we need to have the floor washed, particularly given a significant post cleaning charge...Frederick must have reached out to the house keeper then replied "Hello. for the household it was done as well as the floors as always before the arrival of the tenants"... we resolved the issue by washing the floor, ourselves. The bedrooms are a good size but disjointed. Bedrooms open into bedrooms and there is no common access point. Two upper bedrooms are accessed from a rear stair and two bedrooms are accessed from a staircase by the kitchen. The bedrooms can all be accessed from either staircase but that requires that you walk through a bedroom or two. Good for adults not for small children. There is no plastic stemware for use by the pool. Travelling through the south of France we had occasion to stay at a home near Grasse. The email we received prior to our arrival at the Grasse home..."We provide a welcome pack with essentials to get you started, toilet paper there is plenty. There will be some wine and beer in the fridge and butter, milk, bread, jam, some fresh bread, a little cheese and a fruit bowl. Some nibbles to settle you in before the shop." I would contrast that with the email prior to our arrival at 'Mouschetty' ... "Please note that guests have the possibility of purchasing Espresso coffee cartridges s(X€'s for a pack of 10) and a household-product kit (for €XX) ... " I would suggest that the owner incorporate the XX Euro charge into the rental charge and provide a nice welcome pack to the tenants. The house has good bones but a 3 rating could be a 4 with some minor changes.

Summary: Although we were expecting a high quality property for three families travelling from Ireland, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the property, it's facilities, and it's location within walking distance of Menerbes. We had asked about the outside seating area for a large grouping, as this is an essential element of the enjoyment of holidaying in France. Photographs were supplied at booking stage of a large seating area with limited facilities and basic finishes. However when we arrived this area had been completely upgraded to a high quality area with a stone floor and full facilities including Fridge, high quality barbecues ( two, charcoal and gas) and dishwasher and storage for cutlery etc. This area is where we spent a lot of time at Breakfast and evening meals and contributed to a great and lasting memory of the good times experienced in it. Elsewhere the house had high quality fittings, extensive en suite and other bathroom facilities, excellent fitted kitchens, and good wi fi arrangements. We found the service from the manager friendly and responsive, and some minor niggles were resolved quickly. We have been coming to France for over twenty years and have stayed in many different houses, mainly in the Luberon region. We would rate this house as one of the best we have stayed in and found the location ideal to see the region. We have no hesitation in recommending to any future party and we will definitely consider returning to the property. The entire experience of dealing with the owner and representatives was clear, honest and rewarding. In addition, Menerbes has a great combination of top restaurants, stunning views, but also a lovely atmosphere of local services used by locals. This combined with the other four perched villages of the Luberon is what brings us back to the region time after time. Bonnieux, Gordes, Roussillon and Lacoste are all worth visiting, each having unique attractions, market at Lourmarin a special visit worthwhile.

Summary: We had a fantastic few days in the Luberon valley and the property was terrific. The bathrooms are modern and tastefully renovated, the beds comfortable and the house had plenty of character. Frederic who met us at the property was very helpful. We would have liked to have Aicho cook for us (which was recommended) but unfortunately she didn't reply to our messages. One suggestion only and that is that you shouldn't need to purchase a €60 pack containing dishwasher tablets, tea towels, plastic rubbish bags, etc. (we didn't as we brought our own). Most of the places we've been to have at least a few of the essentials to start with and you just buy extra as you need them. The street number was not known by any gps we had so It would be ideal if that emailed a map. Anyway, we loved the place and would love to go back.

Summary: The house is beautifully restored and decorated, the kitchen equipped with everything you may need and the grounds & pool are amazing. It is ideal for a group of friends and family, especially with kids. Lovely villages to tour in the immediate vicinity, lots to do. Communication with the host was easy. Would love to come back!

Summary: Twelve 60ish adults rented this house for our biannual get together. The transaction was amazingly simple and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. The house can easily accommodate 14 and there was space for everyone and everyone could have a space if they wanted to get away. The kitchen was fabulous for the nights that we ate in and the dining options in the area were superb. We ate twice in Menerbes and other nights in the surrounding towns. There was no shortage of things to do for the week -- hiking, eating, drinking, and touring the countryside. You are close to absolutely picturesque places and can get into Avignon and Aix Provence easily. If traveling to the house, I would recommend through Paris and the high-speed rail to Avignon (renting a car at the station) -- actually easier than Nice or Marseilles -- unless you want to do those cities. We had wine every night beside the pool and in mid-September it was nice to have had it heated. Final comment is you cannot go wrong but do get good directions to the house -- while it is just a short walk into town, and we did it every morning for fresh bread, the first time arriving at the house we all searched.

Summary: Our extended family of six adults and five children stayed at Mas Mouschetty for two weeks. The home is lovely, clean and well maintained. There is a large pool, a ping pong table and a soccer field to keep the children busy and happy while the adults prepare meals in the kitchen or on the grille and enjoy fabulous wines from the area. The villa is central to many many small towns and villages throughout the Luberon and the region of Provence. We visited small town markets, enjoyed picnics and dined at many fine restaurants throughout the area. We never had a problem even with a party of eleven people. The Manager and the owner of the property were very helpful and easy to work with. We had a wonderful time during our stay there and would recommend it highly to others who may be considering a stay there as well.
